| i just had a dance thing at my school. and i think i might have gotten out of control. but, everybody was like dirty dancing. and even though i wasn't even that bad i still feel kindof guilty. i was amazed that even the kids labeled 'chirstians' started like grinding, swearin along to the song, and like.... practically dry humping the girls. i was appalled. i dont really know how i feel. my friends say im makin a big deal out of nothing, but i dont know. even though this is considered normal, is it right? |

I've been here.
Christian performing arts school...
We didnt exactly do pole dancing or anything, but you know, some of the stuff I wouldnt have normally done. but friends and certian people can make you do weird things... I regretted some of it, even though it wasnt that bad, but it just shows you that if you do feel bad, it's because your hearts in the right place. Also remember, not everyone who says they're a christian has the same morals, even though technically, they should... and you never know, maybe they were a bit tipsy or had drinks spiked, and thats what caused them to go weird... But i know how it can feel to have a guy paying attention to you because of the way you dance, or just because your dancing with him. In that way, Im glad I didnt have the partner I wanted for our ballroom dance at grad, cuz it would have been weird. basically, trust what you think is right. remember, God's rules come before anything else. So if you feel it was wrong, ask God to forgive you, then forgive yourself, and move on. because there is no need to dwell on things that happened that you cant change, especially because you've been forgiven, and that means it's not held against you.

yeaah, i've been to a few of my old school's dances [and this was only in middle school!] and i can remember there was some of that so-called 'grinding' which just makes me sick. jojo's right, don't dwell on it but LEARN from it. we're told to live in God's grace but DON'T take it for granted. living in sin just because we know we can and are forgiven isn't ANY excuse to just keep on sinning, right?
so would it help at all if you would keep going to these dances? heck to the no! in Psalm 1, we're told that we'll be blessed if we don't walk in the counsel of the wicked, stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers. in my opinion, that's pretty darn simple. God will bless you if you stop going to these dances and choose to spend your time more wisely!
