Hey, dqchristian's back!

So, I was reading through a few of the topics on here today, and it got me to thinking.

As of today, I have always been single.  Sometimes, there are days when everything is just plain out great, but there are also days when it can be hard.

Does this happen to anyone here?

If you were reading some of the pages I'm sure you saw some of us talking about that...!

I think I might have more days not content being single than being content I'm single. And I only dated one guy last year...not good....anyway I'm going on a no dating summer, and so far, it has been...HARD:)

I think most people on here will feel the same way as you!

LOL, well just so you know, i turn 21 in a month (exactly a month) and I have never dated anyone!!!
So I've practically been single for 21 years :P
it is hard some days, and I've had countless talks to God about how I really desire a husband.
but I also am glad I have been single my whole life, cuz I've had no messy relationships. and it would be cool to tell my husband that he's the only guy I've dated... (If i'm able to only date him... donno how to exactly pull that one off lol)

but yeah. there are up and down days :D

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
'Cause you won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live

Sometimes I wish I had a guy by my side to go through life with, or at least to walk me to my car =P

In all seriousness, though, marriage has never been my focus. I've only recently given up thinking that I'll never get married at all and decided to let God handle it. Instead of waiting for my life to begin when I get married, though, too, I'm living my life. I'm getting my degree, I'm working (and planning a career), I'm leading a Bible Study with some friends, and I'm going out and having fun whenever I get the chance. I'm going car shopping and looking at houses to buy. It's wonderful, though, and personally, I wouldn't give up this part of my life for anything.

^Totally!

Darn it, I wish I didn't have so many friends! They're all talking about their boyfriends or who they're going to prom with etc., and I'm just sitting and ho-humming in the background.
Sometimes it's hard to trust God when He says He has the perfect person around. I have never dated and I don't see any "prospects" on the horizon. It's one of those times when you know God has it all under control,.. but you wish you had a glimpse of.

well one thing those of you who have never dated anyone, you can be glad to not have angry ex boyfriends!!! The dating part is usually what we tend to focus on, not the dealing with the break up (if it should go that way). You don't have to deal with seeing him at church, getting nasty emails, having him bad mouth you to your friends...live and learn and you all just be happy for that small bit of trouble you don't have in your life:):)

Welcome to the lonely boohoo club! LOL I'm 21 and never had a real girlfriend. Kinda grates on my nerves when all my buddies are hanging out with their girlfriends and I go bowling by myself, but that's fine. Hopefully my time will come eventually, and they'll all be jealous 'cuz I got the best one! LOL :) J/K

Yeah, I did see a few, but they were scattered so much, so I was just hoping to see them all in one place.  And yesterday was one of my off days, but today things are going a lot easier.

Maybe we should get a "singles anonymous" club going. :)

Hi, my name is Liz, and it's been all of my life since I last dated. :P lol

oh my goodness, Grant. You are hilarious. I actually had to get out my calculator and divide your number by 365, just to see if you meant your whole life or a couple years (yes my math is that bad... and I'm beyond exhausted right now)

Haha, Liz, that's a good idea!

Well, yesterday I found out that a girl I like was thinking about not going to prom this week.  She had no bf when I heard this but was talking to one of her ex's.  Anyway, I asked if she was going with him.  She said she didn't know.  So I asked if she'd like to go with me...she said she didn't know if she was going to prom at all.  Now, it's all difficult to talk to her whereas before this we got along pretty well.

I actually had some hope about it, but now it's just awkward, because it's definitely clear to her now that I like her.

Has anyone read Sacred Singleness, by Leslie Ludy? I know it's written for young women, but some guys read the girl's books, just like girl's often read guy books =] It's a really fantastic book, I recommend it highly

OOH! I <3 book reccomendations!!! I'll add that to my "to-read" list!!
How about "Before You Meet Prince Charming" by Sarah Malley.
I really like that book! This one is really a girl only book. :) Guys should not have "prince charmings" :)
