Yes, I have actually heard of this strange and abnormal thing we call 'waiting'. Our culture doesn't do a lot of it, unfortunately.
I think you'll find a LOT of the members here have decided to wait, along with me. You're not the only one! :)

I decided to wait more than five years ago. I get a few odd looks for it, but I don't really care - it's my mouth, not theirs.

haha, so using that, locke. =D
and yes, I'm waiting, too. not even kissing on the cheek. I forget where I read/heard it first, but I know it was right before my 16th birthday (I'm 17 1/2 now). I'm stickin' to it.

You may as well come quiet.

I read it in a book once, too, and also fell in love with it! I had decided on at least being engaged a long time ago, but now I've found that the wedding day kiss would mean so much more and help a lot with staying completely pure. Good on y'all for committing to this! :D I think God is smiling

Well I've decided to only kiss the guy I'm going to marry a few years ago now (So glad I never kissed a guy b4...) but not sure about the wedding day thing, as someone on this forum stated b4... it might be too weird going straight from kissing onto other stuff... but yeah, I have to be 100% sure I'm marrying the guy... like mostlikely if we're engaged... or heading that way (I'm talking about after dating for a while... like a year or two... my brother thinks I'm Insane, cuz he only waited like 5 weeks b4 he kissed his gf...) but it's just something I feel I should do.

Take a few chances
Let it all out
'Cause you won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live

@ artyprincess and emilyjanelle - feel free, it ain't copyrighted. I confess, I was coerced into giving my aunt a kiss on the cheek when I was 5 (her wedding), but they had to promise me a nerf gun to do it.

@ Cayla Renae: Yep. It was a Nerf gun and I was a five-year old boy - that's as good as gold to us. *laughs*

@ maddiegirl. Thanks. Like I said, feel free.

How about purity rings- does anyone one wear one of those?

Yay! I'm so glad other people are doing it now just me!

I don't actually have one at the moment. But I need to get one. I like the idea of when you are dating, ya know, seeing it on the person's hand. And being reminded of it.

yes I have a purity/promise ring. I never take it off...
I also have a special bracelette my friend gave me for my 19th (so I've had it for a year) that has a lock on it, and it represents how only 1 guy holds the key to my heart. it's pretty cool!

My Dad said when I'm 15 (August this year) he will buy me a ring or necklace to remind me that he holds my heart for now. He told me when I was about 6 that he would do that, so I've waited and waited so long! I can now browse catalogs! Yay!!

haha, artyprincess, that's so cute! :]

yep, I have a purity ring. I had wanted one SO BADLY since I was 14/15, but honestly didn't really grasp the meaning of it until right before I was 16 (when I decided to save my first kiss for my wedding day). and only in the past year or so have I started to realize that purity is so much more than no kissing/cuddling/holding hands, it's also emotional, IMO. I never take mine off either, but I've come to say that I define my purity ring, it doesn't define me. I define it by what I do/say/and even think. I could still wear it and be... you know. doing whatever.

okay I'm done my explanation. :p

Emily, I TOTALLY agree. I've had a good long think about what purity means, that yes, it's not just outward displays of physical affection, but heart issues also. :)

haha wait, jenny, are you saying that kissing is okay as long as you're getting paid to do it? are you being sarcastic? if not, I'm sorry, but I really have to agree...strongly.
