hey Evie im 17 and im new to the site. and i was wondering if acne bothers guys. i always have a few pimples, its nothing major but it really makes me loose my confidence, especially when im around guys. i tried pretty much everything to get rid of them, but my mom says it'll go away as i get older and im just gonna have to wait. i read FYWO and it was really cool, and ive been a christian every since i was born. i never wear a lot of makeup, just to cover my acne, but its still really annoying. im naturally a shy person anyway and now its even worse. so my question is, does it bother guys? if a girl is otherwise nice and smart, would the acne be like a really big turnoff? oh and im not overly obsessed with it, i wear makeup and i dress modestly, besides the acne im quite pretty i think and i otherwise take care of myself. im really looking for guys feedback on this question. thanks a lot
Evie

| For me, at least, and I think this is a fairly common opinion: Nope, minor acne is no turn-off. |

So you've a few little blemishes here and there...I get them sometimes. Everyone does. Why should guys freak out over a minor flaw in appearance? If they are only interested in you for your appearance, what does that tell you about them? Probably that they won't like you very long. I hate it when I have little blemishes. Girls always want Cover-Girl/Neutrogena skin. That's normal. Dad says it's built into girls to want to be beautiful. I've wanted to look like models on magazines, too. Dad's answer: SO DO THE MODELS. Girl, they are Photoshopped into perfection so they are almost irrecognizable. It's amazing...As in |

Jayde's right- Photoshop is amazing. Even when I started playing with it ~7 years ago, it took about 15 minutes to figure out how to take acne out... since then, I've even figured out to some degree how to change someone's hair and eye color, stuff like that. (Allegedly you can take 10-15 pounds off of a picture of someone... I haven't figured that one out yet.) (p.s. Welcome back, Jayde.) |

Minor acne? I won't notice it after a few weeks. You obviously take care of yourself, and that's all anyone can ask of you. I agree about Photoshop, I saw a video on YouTube where they took a woman who was pretty without anything, then put her into makeup and had a high-speed video of how her face what Photoshopped to remove blemishes, change her hair, and do all sorts of other things. Actually, two minutes of poking around YouTube found it. Link below. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4y5b7INvqE |

hey evie! welcome! :] yeah, I have some minor acne and I take Pro-activ for it. but it's only dulled it down to about half as bad as it was a year ago. I've come to the conclusion that it's probably my hormones (I'm 17, too) and I need to tough it out. I agree with everybody, not even the models themselves look THAT good. any decent guy worth your time will see past your blemishes. =] |

| acne's never bothered me. i got some too, not bad , but enough where someone might notice. usually people don't care about it, unless i piont it out to them. it shouldnt matter how you look on the outside, but how you are on the inside anyway. if a guy ignores a girl for how they look or vice verca, they are just shallow. |

| Guys can tell when you're self conscious about your acne. I was very paranoid about my looks even though I didn't have them bad at all. From my experiences, it never matters to a true friend. |

| ... Unfortunately, yes. I came back from vacation, and the next day, out of the blue, my face was covered in acne. |
