Okay, so my parents made this really embarrassing rule for me that I can't give my cell phone number to ANY guys. I have tried to reason with them ,but they are set on this rule for me. This is really hard for me. I made the decision to not date during high school (which i am still in), but i still would like to give my number to my guy friends that have asked. It pretty much stinks and I am always SO embarrassed when i have to explain to my guy friends why I can't give them my number. Any more I try to hide my cell phone and have even told guys it is broken and that's why I can't give them my number instead of telling them the very embarrassing truth. Does anyone else have this rule? And if so how do you deal with it? Can you guys give me any advice on how to tell a guy why I can't give them my number? Like how can I make it a less awkward situation when they do ask for it? Please help me!! I need some serious advice!!lol

Could they give you their numbers??
I mean, if it doesnt go against your parents. otherwise email addresses... Maybe ask your parents for their reason behind their rule. and maybe tell them your not planning on dating any of them and that it would be a friend-ish thing...
I dont think there is a way to make it less akward... you could say "My parents are strict and dont want me giving away my number..." but thats all I can think of.
I know it sucks, but we should try to obey our parents, as long as it doesnt involve anything illegal or wrong lol, and so you might have to put up with the rule for a while, and who knows. If your parents see they can trust you with that, they might lighten up on the rule. :D

Turn up the music
Turn it up loud
Take a few chances
Let it all out
'Cause you won't regret it
Lookin' back from where you have been
'Cause it's not who you knew
And it's not what you did
It's how you live

I don't know what I'd say, other than, "I'm sorry, but my parents would like for me to not hand out my number." Like Olsenkid mentioned, you might be able to give them your home number (if your parents approve, obviously).

However, them giving you their numbers and then you calling/texting them really wouldn't work, that's practically giving them your number.

Definitely ask your parents if they'll explain their reasoning behind the rule - often parents will put rules on us that come from events they experienced in their own childhood and teenage years. Sometimes that causes us embarrassment, yeah, but they're doing it because they love us, not simply to punish us.

Hope things work out for you. :)

It is trifles that make the sum of life.
