A good compliment...well for starters, a girl likes it when someone, usually anyone, compliments on her outfit, but a compliment like "hey i like your shirt" won't get as far as "hey, cute top, i like it"; well that's me i guess. Compliments on appearances, for girls at least, is a good starter, or if you can get deeper like any sports she plays or anything about a good performance in something she did, is awesome. Sometimes even with small talk over compliments, you can pick up on tangents in things she says and go from there. It might be totally different from what your were talking about but take a tangent on something she mentioned and she'll pick up on it. If nothing else then, like Lutie said, make her smile. I know i usually remember a guy that made me smile. |

Yeah... that is hard... I went through this at the start of the year... Id say, just be content with being her friend, and still try to talk to her, compliment her etc, but make sure it's not in a flirty way. like you need to build your confidence up to talk to girls you like, but make sure its not flirty, like I said... Be a good friend to her!! lol |

Yeah - don't be over friendly! (who knows, her boyfriend may be 7 foot tall and 160 kilograms!! that's roughly 320 pounds for those of you who don't use metric.....) Cause that can get very sticky very quickly! So pay her a sincere compliment every now and then, not every time you see her, or it gets a bit creepy! |

Steven, ArtyPrincess said something on another topic about smiling and just saying hello to a girl- maybe you could just do that (maybe you have, I don't know how many times you've seen her recently) and don't worry about starting a conversation or having this great deep discussion where she realizes you two are perfect or anything, just say "hey" as you walk by, meet her eyes, and keep going. How is that going, btw? |

| umm, okay. talking from experience.i have this really good freind who is a girl. and in the summer i really really liked her ( dont anymore, in that sense anyway) and we both loved soccer. and we hung out in a group. and we played some soccer. but now, that i dont like her anymore. i find it hard to really like her as a freind without kinda liking her the other way. so what im tyring to say is I dont think starting freindships because you like someone always turns out the best ( dont get me wrong, i still think you should start freindships...) correct me if im wrong. |
