so I meat this guy that i really really like but the problem is that i live in egdewood and he lives in carlsbad. it hurts because i really like him but i never get to talk to him and i never get to see him he said he was gonna try and come out this summer to see me but idk if he'll be all that into me when summer comes around =/ what should i do?

Okay, okay, no offense, but I think that your situation is a little bit ridiculous, an you are being a bit melodramatic. This should not be somethng that is causing you to be "hurting too much to handle!!" If you think you can't handle, it that is indicative of a problem with where you base your worth or what you value most. Can't you write to him or text him? You're placing too much time and energy on a relationship that doesn't even exist. Sorry if this hurts you, but it's just what I think.  |

well no, actually lizzy, i know what you mean, though I am almost 22 and with this guy, idk, it's a more serious relationship type of thing... but yeah I know what it feels like to be hurting cuz you miss someone so much, but we only realise it in those moments where it really does hurt.
and yeah, so maybe you're relationship isnt that serious, but I've been there too...
and this often happens in relationships or even friendships where you live far apart. I mean, my best friend lives 6 hrs from me, and sometimes I also miss her so much it hurts... cuz she's my bestie... haha.
um idk, as I'm sorta going through it too, it's kinda hard to say how to solve it, but distractions work, like youth and church, or helping out in the community, or getting involved in a project that makes you think about other stuff...
and journalling is a great way to get out what's going on in your head, and then when you re-read it, when you're not upset, you can see just whats going on in your head and make plans accordingly...
as for this guy, dont be too... can't find a better word, desperate (I use that word, cuz that's what I was) to have to speak to him, as sometimes it can come across as scary... cuz I've been there... but you can casually talk to him, like on Fb, if you have them, or a casual text every once in a while... cuz remember, because of the distance, it'll take ALOT longer to set up a solid friendship/relationship, so it means you need to space out communication to not freak people out...
just from my experience where I've tried and failed a few times haha. |

Actually lizzy, I think your feelings are very validated. Sorry Darcie, but I have to say I can really sympathize with lizzy. I'm not sure I really have this problem, but I do know that I know what it's like to have someone you really like be so far away and you can't visit him/her whenever you like. It's sad. If you guys are just friends right now, keep in touch and see about a time when you guys can meet up. It doesn't sound like your relationship is serious at this point, but I second what Jo says (as always) and maybe don't keep on long conversations everyday of the week 2/7- that's going over the edge a little.  Not saying that you would do that though. I hope you get this figured out. |

Have either of you guys felt the pain of liking a guy knowing that he's just leading you on?
Because that's what it feels like to me. I really this guy and sometimes when i do get a chance to talk to him it feels like he's leading me on just to put me down. or to make me feel pain. it feels like he's doing this on purpose like all he wants is for me to feel pain. IDK I think I'm giving up on him. It's getting to be where I can't stand it anymore. =/ |

Yes Lizzy, I have... and last time it ended with me thinking everything was going fine, and BOOM I stay at a friends house (in his city which is 3 hrs from me) and she told me she went to his church and I said "Oh so you know him?" and she said 'Yeah, he's engaged to my flatmate"
So yeah...
So over it now though, but it sucked when it was happening...
yeah sometimes it's best to try forget him if you cant handle it... I had to do that, and it meant no contact at all... deleting photos etc
it's hard, but when you're as far as i've come now, you'll be happier  |

Aww Lizzy, I have to say Jo is your preferred go to person in this area since I haven't had any guy lead me on. I wouldn't wish this situation for anybody in the world, but I think you should actually be done with this guy- it's not right for him to be leading you on like that. I agree with Jo- it might be hard at first, but you'll be happier later

| After I met Grant for the first time the next two months were horrible! Even tho we were dating I was like, we only met once, what if we really didn't get along, what if he wont like me anymore or I won't like him...on and on. All you can do is trust God if He wants it to be, he'll go bring someone from half way around the world for you. Trusting God is HARD in this area sometimes, I know. |

I agree with Clare Trusting God is indeed hard at times, and sometimes especially in your love life area. I can testify to that!
But in reality, if you trust God, your Daddy, with your life, including your love life, you will NEVER be disappointed. I promise you that. God most definitely has a special and wonderful plan for your life My favorite verse in the Bible (and my life verse) goes: "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord; plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future..." Jeremiah 29:11  This verse helps me get through my academic stress, my (nonexistent) love life, general life, and other things. |

My verse for my tough times is "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Phillipians 4 v 13.
I also love Proverbs 3 v 5 I think... about trusting the Lord with ALL your heart... read it up
I also like the one somewhere in Isaiah that says "They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount on wings as eagles. They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."

i found this book called "bible promises"
and it's taken every promise made in the bible and put them in categories, so whenever you need a specific verse, you look up the category, and all the promises relating to that are there. it's cool, cuz if God made us those promises, we can claim them over our lives!
hehe like one for me is when God made Eve, and he said "it's not good for man to be alone" and so made Adam a wife, and so I claim that God has made me to be someone's wife, and I stnad on that promise hehe (sounds cheesy ) |

@Clare and Beckah: I know! I adopted this verse as my life verse because it reminds of so much: Not only does God love me, He has a wonderful plan for my life, He's not out to get me, or make my life miserable or anything, but He knows what He's doing, and His plan includes the best in mind for me.
This applies to EVERYONE of course I guess I kinda just personalized it
I have this devotional book that includes this 'phone book' to Heaven, in which there's a verse for just about every emotion or distress I could go through. Phone lines open 24/7, no need to make an appointment. ^_^ Haha I love it. |
