It amazes me how many girls have some hard times shopping for a swimsuit. My sister has that problem. But would it be immodest for a guy if he went swimming shirtless? What if hes all ripped?

i think it was covered earlier in the topic, but yes, girls do kinda stumble if a guy who's ripped as is shirtless...
super akward when a dude who I really liked took his shirt off in front of me... I was like "DONT LOOK!!!!!!!!! and avoid EYE CONTACT!" |

I don't really care if a guy wears a shirt or not. It can be awkward cuz I didn't grow up around guys that took their shirts off!
And yeah....I have been looking for a swimsuit since like Feb, and I'm about fed up!! |

| I think david summed it up well, Guys are gonna be attracted to you, no matter what you wear... the only thing that wont be attractive is a sack... haha. even one pieces are immodest... so best bet it to get a rash vest (the tops the surfers wear) and board shorts to wear over the top? |

Bikinis. I hate one peices. I do not think they are "too reveling" they cover what needs to be and thats that. Also I have a larger chest and find one peices very uncomfortable. Oh, and I love the cut out one peices. The more skin showing, the better  |

tell that to a guy who has cried at night because he is struggling to keep pure and it's SO HARD when there are girls dressed like that, us girls don't have a problem with it, but for the guy's sake we have to help them. It really hurts to know you're man is so tempted to look at other girls and is trying to hard not to and when you yourself are doing everything you can to help your man and yet there are all thes girls going around pretty much undressed.

Legally, yes, they do cover what (legally)needs to be covered, but that's it. "Also I have a larger chest and find one peices very uncomfortable." I can sympathize with the comfort issue. I hate uncomfortable clothing of any sort, but a teeny tiny bikini isn't the only solution. In fact, a *ahem* "larger chest" in a bikini compounds the problem for us guys. You didn't ask my opinion, and you don't have to listen to it. You can do whatever you want, but do keep in mind that, especially if you are fit, "well endowed", and physically attractive, you will get laid at worst, stripped at best in the mind of every guy at the beach/pool/etc. who is not committed to keeping himself/his mind pure if you're wearing your "more skin showing the better" bikini.
I'm sure you're thinking "That's just wrong! That's the guy's problem, and he just needs to learn to deal with it." I agree to some extent. It is the guy's responsibility to do his part not to look at a female swimmer's "attention getters," and not to fantasize about them, but as a girl, you have NO idea how hard it is to do that when you're surrounded by a bunch of "hot" girls wearing very little more than a smile. I'll just say it, because I don't care anymore, but I used to be into porn. Alot. By the grace of God, I've been free from it for quite a while now, but I think alot of what got me started was lingerie ads, and seeing pictures of bikini clad girls that other people had posted on another forum(jerks). After viewing porn for awhile, If I saw a girl wearing anything revealing/suggestive, in my mind I could have every last stitch off of her within 3 seconds. No joke, and it's NOT funny. I'm not saying any of this because I'm proud of it, rather that I am very ashamed of my past, but it is what it is, and I'm only in a minority because I actually have quit viewing porn, and trying my hardest not to look/fantasize about the scantily clad women who do cross my path.
So...all this to say...as a guy, and from everything I've learned so far, if you start undressing yourself, and showing off your body a little bit, any guy not committed to purity around you will go ahead and finish undressing you in his mind. If you dress in a way that keeps everything sensual covered up(within reason), then he will be far more likely to respect your body, and leave your clothes on in his mind, and not lust over you. Also, for us guys doing our best not to lust, not to fantasize, not to looooooook, it makes it WAY more comfortable for us to talk to you and interact with you.
I'm not saying this to totally freak you out and make you swim in a burka(you'd drown), but please, think about how what you wear will affect the guys around you, and how it will make them think about you. If you're at a private pool with nothing but girls within eyesight anywhere around, by all means, go free as a song if you like, but don't expect any man to not think lustful thoughts about you when what you wear leaves practically nothing to the imagination, and guys have good imaginations if they don't take their thoughts captive. and I'm not tring to show off that I have a larger chest (I hate it) I just dont like one pieces they are horrible, you try wearing one! I like two pieces. Also i feel good about my body, there is nothing I want to change about it, oh except my chest I want it smaller and more normal for my age. I once read a magazen and it said guys like girls who feels comfortable in their own bodys, I do and I want people to know that. I know I sound like a **** but it's a personal chose what to wear. I'm sorry, I know i'm being un sintative to the guys, again sorry. Bye! |

I wear a one piece. They're called swimming trunks. Feeling good about your body is good, and I'm all for it, but that doesn't mean that you have to make all the guys around you "feel good" about your body too. My girl asked me for my input on what swimsuit I thought would look good on her, and still be modest, and we kinda picked out a couple that are really cute, and still cover up what needs to be covered. Best we could come up with was a nice tankini top, and boardshorts.
You're right. It is a personal choice, and you can do whatever you want, but now you know what it's like from a guy's point of view, so don't say you haven't been warned, and don't come crying to me if/when it bites you in the butt. Have a great day! |

| how about a tankini??!! Lifesaver!! I don't like one-pieces either, but I don't like showing skin (i don't wear tanktops, and hardly ever shorts) so a bikini doesn't work for me (beside the fact that my parents would have a cow if i wore one ) I got an awesome tankini at Sears that is pretty much shorts and a tanktop (that i wear a tshirt over) made out of swimsuit material! Ya gotta love 'em! |

OK firstly, I hate wearing a one piece, like I've said a thousand times... firstly, it's only like wearing one extra layer of skin over your normal skin. It doesn't really hide anything. and girls will prob understand when I say "Thicker is better..." and I will not go into explanation for the poor guys' sake 
there are swimming clothes designed for what you have complaints about, for instance, dont wear ruffels, makes you look like twice as big etc. besides that, I know how hard it is to find a decent item to go swimming in. Took me years |

Grant, I have much respect for you.
As far as one pieces and two pieces, I can understand what you guys say about one pieces, but I still wear one. It's just something with keeping my mid section covered up. That's mostly why. As for modesty, I think it's all about honoring our bodies and our future spouses (and not putting guys in the position to struggle with where to put their eyes). Sorry guys! I'm not trying to sound condemning here, and I hope I'm not. |

| what i do is i wear a tank top kind of like one any way and guys swim trunks its simple and easy because i hate the one pieces too but sometimes i just learn to suck it up and get over it but thats just me |

I found a cute bathing suit at ****'s, it's a sport stuff store. It's all one color (turquiose) and its kinda sporty, but it has a cute gather at the sideseams... its rly cute and i feel modest wearing it... i personally dont like bikinis, i think they look like a bra and underwear, so guys find it distracting. Also, its waaaay easier for them to fall down jumping in the water
